This blog started out as a place for me to share my progress towards the completion of the 2 Oceans Half Marathon in 2009. That day has come and gone and I have reached my goal. This will now be a place for me to share whatever my current big goal is.

The undefined plan
So I don't really have a plan yet about how I'm going to do this half marathon, or how I will train to do it, or which of the many half marathons on the calendar I will make my first. I will probably try to make the first one at sea level, as this should make it easier for me. The plan at the moment is just to get as fit as possible and increase the distance I am able to run, slowly, as I get fit enough to complete longer distances. I would also like to start taking part in races again on weekends, soon I hope to start doing some of the 5km fun runs around Gauteng. But I'm sure the plan will get more definite soon.

Mark, I think what you are doing is fantastic and very courageous!
You surely are and have been an inspiration to me. :-)
I notice though that no mention was made of the paddling we did... or how I raced you on the waters, not knowing that you really should not be getting your heart racing like that! I apologize now...
Hehehe, well I'm still allowed to be stupid sometimes :) no apology required...
This is pretty damn brave…and way more determined than I could be. You've inspired me to go back to gym and start running – because I'm quite certain that I can't run 5 km – and if I did. I'm quite sure my heart rate would be somewhere near 170 or something!! And then I'd fall over!! And that's just cos I'm lazy!!
the last comment was from Janine - too rushed to sign up for a google account!! ;)
I am always on your side 100%, this time though it has to be in thought. Keep going! I am very proud of you and no matter what I always will be.
holy moly. you're a legend...
will watch with interest - and if you remind me - will add this to my blogroll... on cowboys and scrubbed. in fact, we can post about it if you don't mind a LOT of readers reading about it?
pop over for 1/4 of a beer one day and I'll help you set up some cool widgets for your blog - show you how much traffic, where it's coming from, email subscriptions etc.etc.
Lemme know.
Later dude
Hazard.
Good luck dude! But don't forget about your bicycle :) Argus is just around the corner ... hint hint nudge nudge
